LYLE MCLACHLAN

Season 1, Episode 1: Courage and going the distance

Lyle is a marathoner, engineer, father, husband and my brother. He is also a great story teller. His post-race reports are more anticipated than his splits. He regularly sets goals for himself but rarely shares what he has planned until he’s already well on his way. What keeps him going, how does he set his sights and what’s next? (If he’ll tell us).

In this episode Lyle mentions doing the Tour d'Afrique  (TdA) cycling adventure. I said during the episode he was "EFI" - which means he was on his bike for every f@%king inch of the Tour.  Not an easy accomplishment. It's Cairo to Cape Town: 120 days, approximately 11700km and 10 countries.

What do you do after riding the TdA and cycling across Canada? You start running marathons. Thirty-three marathons later, he shares what has he learned about courage.
